After QB1 Dillon Gabriel got a concussion, the Cleveland Browns finally let Shedeur Sanders play for the first time this season. This is his official NFL debut, but the former Colorado quarterback struggled. He threw 4-of-16 for 47 yards and had one interception and was sacked twice during that 23-16 loss against the Baltimore Ravens.
After the game, Sanders went hard on himself, telling reporters that he did not play well at all that game. However, teammate Myles Garrett, whose most recent contract is worth $160 million, is not having it and told the rookie quarterback that his dismal performance was on them as well, as football is a team game.
“He wanted to pin it on himself … I wouldn’t allow him to do that. It’s a team game,” Garrett said after the game.
Myles Garrett said Shedeur Sanders addressed the entire team in the locker room after the game.

Despite being the backup quarterback, Shedeur Sanders reportedly has not practiced much with the starters, with fans accusing Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski of “bias” against Sanders, who is the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders. Sanders also has not been given many snaps during practice, with many fans believing this is the reason for his dismal debut.
Kevin Stefanski Might Dash Shedeur Sanders’ Hope Of Finally Getting To Start For Cleveland Browns
Meanwhile, Stefanski has not been able to escape the allegations that he has been biased against Shedeur Sanders. The Browns QB2 would finally get his chance to start for the first time against the Las Vegas Raiders for Week 12, especially with Dillon Gabriel on concussion protocol. However, Stefanski shut that down, saying Gabriel will be staying as a starter.
Stefanski has noted that Gabriel will retain his spot and will be starting as soon as he passes his concussion protocol. This has raised a lot of eyebrows, especially fans of Shedeur Sanders, though the coach did acknowledge that “a lot has to happen” for this to occur. Gabriel still has to pass five steps in order to clear the NFL’s mandatory concussion protocols and be able to play against the Raiders.
For now, Shedeur Sanders is clinging to hope that he could finally be able to start, and this might happen in Week 12.
