LOOK: Shedeur Sanders’ Thrilling 52-Yard Throw Leaves Myles Garrett Shell Shocked

Could it be that the Cleveland Browns have found their answer in Shedeur Sanders? Early in today’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Browns are looking like a different team than they have for most of the season. At the time of writing, they were leading 14-3, and their offense looked comfortable.

The reason? Some would argue it’s Shedeur Sanders, who has taken over the reins of the offense from an injured Dillon Gabriel. In the first quarter, the quarterback proved what he’s capable of by throwing a 52-yard pass while on the move. The camera immediately panned to the Browns’ sidelines, showing Myles Garrett, who couldn’t believe what he had just seen.

The game is the first NFL regular-season start for the former Colorado quarterback. Shedeur, the son of the Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, fell in the 2025 NFL Draft from a first-round prospect in the run-up to the draft to a fifth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns.

Sanders started the preseason as QB4, with veteran Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel ahead of him in the team’s depth chart. While he had the chance to start in one preseason game, and Pickett’s trade moved him to QB3, he hadn’t played this season until Gabriel left last week’s game with a concussion.

Many fans have criticized the Browns for not giving him a chance at the starting job following Joe Flacco’s departure to Cincinnati. Their decision to stand by a struggling Dillon Gabriel has left people around the NFL perplexed.

Shedeur Sanders’ Numbers Against the Las Vegas Raiders So Far

Near the end of the second quarter, Sanders had thrown for 121 passing yards, with no touchdown passes yet, but with one interception. He has gone six-for-10, with a 60% completion rate.

More importantly for fans, he has shown the ability to throw the ball down the field, with two 30-plus-yard passes. However, the second pass, a 39-yarder to Jerry Jeudy, showed the Browns’ deficiencies in full display as the wide receiver stopped without any apparent reason after catching the ball and allowing the Raiders defense to force the fumble, slapping the ball out of his hands.
