LOOK: Shedeur Sanders’ Mom Pilar Reps Browns Star in Stylish Outfit for 49ers Showdown in Week 13

Shedeur Sanders was given the chance of making his second NFL regular-season career start this weekend, as the Cleveland Browns faced the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Nov. 30.

Sanders came off victorious in his first regular-season start, leading the Browns to their first victory in months against the Las Vegas Raiders last week. The game showed his potential to be a long-term starter.

Someone ready for Sanders’ second NFL regular-season start was his mother, Pilar Sanders, who took to her Instagram account to show herself getting ready to attend the game while wearing a jersey inspired by the signal-caller. In the reel’s caption, she wrote:

“GAME TIME! GO SHEDEUR! GO #12 GO BROWNS.”

Shedeur Sanders had his first taste of NFL regular-season action a couple of weeks ago, when he took over from an injured Dillon Gabriel against the Baltimore Ravens. The game was a 23-16 defeat for the Browns.

Since then, Gabriel has been in the concussion protocol, which gave Sanders the chance to start against the Raiders last week. According to the latest reports, the Raiders would be willing to allow the former Colorado quarterback to develop as a starter for the rest of the season.

This is a turnaround for a Sanders who was QB4 during the preseason camp (behind Gabriel, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett) and who fell from the first round all the way to the fifth in the NFL Draft following disastrous interviews during the NFL Combine.

Browns GM Sends Message of Support to Shedeur Sanders

According to the latest reports from NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, the Cleveland Browns want Shedeur Sanders to develop into a starter for the rest of the season.

The direct quote from Browns’ general manager, Andrew Berry, was as follows:

“He’s going to make plays. We don’t want to take that out of him. They want to see him minimize his downside, continue to be Shedeur, and maybe, just maybe, he’s the Browns’ answer at quarterback.”

This is excellent news for Shedeur Sanders. For a career path that looked in jeopardy until recently, he will now have a month to show the decision makers at Cleveland that he’s the man to build the team around. He needs to convince them that they won’t need to draft another quarterback in next year’s draft, and that they should give him more weapons in the offense, as the team’s defense is already one of the best in the NFL.
