“He’s a Guaranteed Bust”: Fans Abuzz As Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Heads to Medical Tent in Q1 Against Bills

The Week 16 NFL matchup between the Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills at Huntington Bank Field took an unexpected turn when Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders exited the game abruptly.

Shedeur going off the field came after Cleveland was running a passing play, and Sanders threw an incomplete pass.

Immediately after Sanders hurried off to the medical tent, quarterback Dillon Gabriel came in to replace Shedeur on the field.

This prompted a lot of fans to react to Shedeur’s departure on X, writing:

“A real QB would stay in the game, not care about his little fingey being hurt. This is why he’s a guaranteed bust”, wrote a fan.

“tough break for the buffs offense”, stated a fan.

“Hope it’s just a bruised ego”, said a fan.

“*Caleb Williams, texting Shedeur:* Just put some nail polish on it, man up, and get back out there”, commented a fan.

“Hope all is well”, remarked a fan.

“Please be okay he’s balling out”, wrote another fan.

“bro noo he was doing so good”, commented another fan.

At first, there was no clear indication of what caused the issue, but the cameras later showed Sanders with a heavily bleeding pinky finger. Announcer Ian Eagle suggested the injury may have occurred when Sanders’ finger was struck by or caught in a helmet.

However, the Cleveland fans had something to cheer on right after Sanders’ brief absence from the field, as he returned briefly after a bloody right finger.

Earlier in the game, Sanders led the Browns on a 69-yard drive, finishing it with a 13-yard touchdown pass to fellow rookie Harold Fannin Jr.

Buffalo quickly responded as James Cook carried the ball for 67 yards, subsequently resulting in a 44-yard rushing touchdown that tied the game at 7–7.

Buffalo’s attack continued to roll on with James Cook scoring his second rushing touchdown of the game. At halftime, the Bills currently hold a 20–10 lead over the Browns.
