Shedeur Sanders’ Browns season continues to spiral downward. Their 32–13 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday marked their sixth defeat of the year, dropping them to 2–6. The offense once again failed to produce, extending what has been a frustrating campaign.
The Browns’ quarterback saga has been one of the league’s biggest disappointments. Rookie Dillon Gabriel was given the QB1 nod over Shedeur Sanders early in the season, with the coaching staff hoping his steady approach would stabilize the offense.
But against the Patriots, Gabriel struggled badly, throwing two interceptions and accounting for a costly safety. His poor outing added more frustration for fans who have been calling for a change under center.
As Cleveland’s offense collapsed again, chants for Shedeur Sanders began to echo online and around the fanbase.
“Dillon Gabriel just threw the ball out of bounds and got intentional grounding in the endzone, so it’s a safety. WE NEED SHEDEUR SANDERS!!!” a fan wrote.

“This easily top 5 most goofy play in NFL history,” a fan wrote.
This isn’t the first time the fans have demanded that Sanders be put on the field. In the preseason, Sanders proved himself, giving fans hope that the Browns will give him opportunities to do the same during the regular season.
Unfortunately, the season has been disappointing for Sanders and his fans. The former Colorado star entered the league with sky-high expectations and a strong college resume, but his draft day fall set the tone for a challenging rookie season.
Shedeur Sanders Has Had a Disheartening NFL Run
Selected by the Browns in the fifth round, Sanders was expected to compete for the starting job. Instead, he found himself buried on the depth chart and dealing with injuries that have kept him sidelined for much of the season.
Critics have questioned his readiness and maturity, especially after a few tense media interactions earlier in the year. He also gave a hilarious silent interview, which further damaged his reputation and gave the naysayers another reason to call him immature.
Despite not taking a single regular-season snap, Sanders has faced heavy scrutiny and online criticism, an unusual spotlight for a player yet to get a real chance. For someone once viewed as a potential franchise quarterback, his first year has been full of setbacks.
Still, his talent and college track record keep fans hopeful. With Gabriel struggling and the Browns’ season slipping away, many believe it’s only a matter of time before Shedeur Sanders gets his shot to prove himself in Cleveland.
