The Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals enter their Week 10 showdown with several key players missing from both sides. The Seahawks will be without wide receiver Tory Horton, while the Cardinals have ruled out cornerback Max Melton, among others.
These absences could have a major impact on both teams as they look to gain ground in the NFC West. With playoff implications already looming, depth and adaptability will be tested in what could turn into a battle of adjustments rather than star power.
Both teams have dealt with a wave of injuries in recent weeks. Seattle, battling to stay consistent on offense, will have to dig deep in its receiving corps. Arizona, meanwhile, faces more defensive losses, weakening an already vulnerable secondary.
Here’s a breakdown of today’s inactives and how they could shape the outcome of this Week 10 matchup.
Seattle Seahawks Inactives
The Seahawks’ inactive list features several important names. Rookie wide receiver Tory Horton will not suit up due to a shin injury, a blow to Seattle’s depth. Fellow receiver Jake Bobo is also inactive with a calf issue, leaving the team thin at the position.
Tight end AJ Barner, who was listed as questionable during the week, has been cleared to play, but the passing game will still miss the youthful energy Horton brings. On defense, the absence of veteran defensive lineman Jarran Reed stands out. Reed is dealing with a wrist and thumb injury and was placed on injured reserve ahead of this matchup.
Cornerback Josh Jobe (concussion) and linebacker Ernest Jones IV (knee) are also out, further straining the defensive depth.
The Seahawks will have to rely on backups to fill multiple roles, particularly along the defensive line. That puts pressure on edge rushers to generate consistent pressure and on the linebackers to step up in run defense.
Arizona Cardinals Inactives
The Cardinals’ inactive list is equally concerning. Cornerback Max Melton, sidelined with a concussion, is one of the most notable losses. Arizona’s secondary has struggled at times this season, and losing Melton further weakens a defense that already ranks near the bottom in passing yards allowed.
Fellow cornerback Will Johnson (back/hip) is also out, leaving the Cardinals exposed on the perimeter against Seattle’s wideouts. Linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. (ribs) joins the inactive list, depleting the second level of the defense.
Defensive lineman Bilal Nichols is also inactive. On offense, wide receiver Xavier Weaver and offensive linemen Demontrey Jacobs and Josh Fryar will sit out as well, further limiting Arizona’s flexibility.
With both teams missing starters, the game could come down to which backup group performs better under pressure.
