“Beating Washed Allegations”: Fans Don’t Hold Back As Saquon Barkley Torches Ex-Team With Thrilling Touchdown

Saquon Barkley is back, with the Philadelphia Eagles running back showing glimpses of his old self as he takes on his former team, the New York Giants for Sunday Night Football. He started the scoring early in the first quarter with a thrilling 65-yard touchdown that has many fans excited.

Barkley’s touchdown placed Philadelphia on the board, and soon enough, it got fans taking to social media to talk about the play, with many stating that he is dispelling those rumors that he is already “washed.”

“Barkley beating those washed allegations!” said one fan.

“UNPOPULAR OPINION: Running backs are what you build teams around not quarterbacks..” one fan pointed out.

“Somewhere John Mara is crying,” one fan noted.

“WHO LET SAQUON LOOSE! He loves playing vs NY,” added another X user.

“Glad I didn’t sit him today in fantasy,” said one happy Fantasy manager.

“saquon fantasy owners (me) in joy,” another one replied.

This was also Barkley’s first touch of the game, beginning his attempt by running right in the middle and using his athleticism to avoid defenders before running on the outside to score the first touchdown of the game. He recorded 80 rushing yards in that play alone.

It was the New York Giants that drafted him back in 2018, and he played there until 2023. He signed $37.75 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, $26 million of which is guaranteed. This turned out to be a good decision as Barkley won the Super Bowl with the Eagles that same year.

Saquon Barkley Felt Betrayed by the New York Giants

That touchdown against his former team was big for Barkley, especially after what he revealed during the Amazon documentary, “Saquon,” where he revealed details of his contract negotiations with the Giants, which soon broke down and this led him to go with the Eagles.

During that documentary, Barkley revealed that he felt “f***ed over” by the Giants and that they were holding him back.

“Everyone gets to f–k me over,” he said. “But I can never do what I want to do.”

Barkley was shown to be very frustrated with his team at that time, prompting him to ask to be traded, adding that he would have “$10 million, $11 million” if they treated him differently.
