In the middle of a critical stretch for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the DK Metcalf drama has been an unnecessary distraction. During a game against the Detroit Lions, Metcalf got into an altercation with a fan and ended up punching him.
Since then, this has become a major storyline on its own while the Steelers try to make it to the playoffs. A lot has been said about it; some fans are supporting Metcalf while others are criticizing him for crossing a line.
The Steelers’ wide receiver was suspended for two games, and the fan who got punched, Ryan Kennedy, held a press conference to say his side of the story and debunk some of the narratives against him.
Now, there’s another twist in the tale. A man named Hunter Kennedy, who claims to be Ryan’s nephew, has said that it was all pre-planned. Hunter commented on a post by Woodward Sports and revealed the details.
“It’s true. I’m Ryan’s nephew. He’s been trolling DeKaylin for YEARS every single game in Detroit. Finally broke him. He’s been talking about this day for months,” Hunter wrote.

If this is true, then it weakens Ryan’s case against Metcalf. This will prove that he intentionally incited him. Although punching can still not be justified, Metcalf will have a credible argument in the matter.
However, the comment from a random person on Facebook cannot be taken as proof. The person’s claim to be a family member of Ryan needs to be verified first before it can be used as an argument against him.
Aaron Rodgers on the DK Metcalf Drama
As a veteran in the game, Aaron Rodgers has seen such fans countless times. He has personal experience with fans who don’t know that there’s a boundary that they shouldn’t cross. Recently, he shared his experience with the media.
Rodgers said that some fans have this mindset that since they’ve paid for the tickets, they get to say whatever they want. Such entitled behavior is bound to lead to an altercation, and that’s what happened with Metcalf and Ryan.
Rodgers made it clear that he doesn’t endorse getting into an altercation with fans, but at the same time, he understands why Metcalf did it.
“Obviously, don’t condone what DK did, but I understand,” Rodgers said. “There’s been a lot of crazy comments said my way over the years, and the truth is, that would never happen face to face.”

During his press conference, Ryan requested Metcalf to come out and tell people that no racial slur was used against him. He revealed that his family has been getting threats based on the false narrative.
