Singer and songwriter Ciara turned 40 on Oct. 25, and her husband, New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson, threw one hell of a party. This is according to the Grammy Award winner’s latest Instagram post, in which she shared several photos from her birthday party, including some with Wilson.
She added the following message of gratitude in the caption of the post.
“Baby thank you for always making me feel on top of the world and for throwing the best surprise birthday party! You always make every moment for me, big or small, feel special and important! You are the best!! I love you soooooo much @DangeRussWilson. #TheBig40 🖤,” wrote Ciara.

Russell Wilson and Ciara reportedly started dating in early 2015, and their relationship progressed fairly quickly, culminating in their marriage in June 2016.
Wilson plays for the New York Giants, but he has been benched in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart after three straight defeats at the start of the season. This is the first time the 36-year-old has been demoted to backup quarterback. He was the Seattle Seahawks quarterback for 10 seasons, then for two seasons for the Denver Broncos and one season for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks in the 2013 season.
Sean Payton Apologizes to Russell Wilson for the Earlier Comment
Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton made some buzz the previous weekend when he told the New York Giants coaching staff that he would’ve preferred to face Russell Wilson rather than Jaxson Dart.
The quarterback took that as criticism and went on his X account to lambast his former coach.
Classless… but not surprised….
Didn’t realize you’re still bounty hunting 15+ years later through the media. 😎😂 #LetsRide 🤣— Russell Wilson (@DangeRussWilson) October 21, 2025
Last week, Payton took some time to speak with the press and explain his comments.
“I did [see it],” Payton said Wednesday. “In the euphoria, the way that game unfolded, that was strictly about Dart. And that was in no way, shape or form anything that was directed at Russ. And I might be able to see how he might perceive that. Coming off that win and watching how [Dart] played, that wasn’t any intention at all.”
It could all be down to some friendly competitiveness of wanting to play a former player of his. Meanwhile, Dart showed great qualities in the 32-33 defeat, but also some important flaws. He threw for 283 yards, with three touchdown passes, which was impressive, but at the same time, he had an incredibly poor completion percentage of 45.4% and threw one interception.
