Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby was shut down for the season by the franchise on Saturday. Crosby was dealing with a lingering knee injury and Tom Brady’s co-owned Raiders thought it was best for him not to feature in the remaining two games of the season, keeping his long-term health in focus.
However, Crosby is not on the same page as the franchise. When he was informed by the team about his placement on the injured reserve, he left the facility frustrated. He sent more indications on social media, where he can be seen playing pickup basketball and jumping on the trampoline.
This is getting bad: Maxx Crosby is posting videos on IG of himself playing basketball and jumping on the trampoline.
Sending a clear message to the Raiders organization.

By sitting out Crosby, the Raiders might be thinking of tanking the season. They are currently tied with the New York Giants at a 2–13 record, meaning both teams are in contention to receive the first overall pick. NFL insider Bobby Skinner fears the worst for the Raiders:
“Raiders might lose multiple picks with this new evidence.”

What Skinner was trying to say here is that if the Raiders are deliberately trying to sit out Crosby for the sole purpose of losing games, they have the authority to penalize them. The Raiders might be investigated for hurting the team’s competitive integrity and could face penalties like fines, loss of draft picks and league sanctions against executives.
Raiders’ Maxx Crosby Publicly Rejected Idea Of Tanking For No. 1 Pick
Earlier this week, Maxx Crosby didn’t like the idea of tanking for the sole purpose of getting the opportunity to pick first overall in next year’s draft.
“Yeah, I don’t give a (expletive) about the pick, to be honest,” Crosby said. “I don’t play for that. That’s not my job. My job is to be the best defensive end in the world. Being a great leader, being an influence.”
Meanwhile, Raiders coach Pete Carroll finds it understandable why Crosby would leaving team facility like that, shedding light on his competitive spirit.
“It was exactly like you would think he would do,” Carroll said. “And I agree with him a 1000% on it.”
According to Crosby, the job is to compete, play football, and lead his team. The defensive star has three-years, $106.5 million remaining on his contract. Given the recent incident, it might not surprise anyone if he requests a trade this offseason.
