Pete Carroll might be a legendary coach, but he has had a disastrous year with the Las Vegas Raiders, with the Super Bowl winner failing to lead the team to a winning season. This has led the team to fire the coach, whose net worth is $50 million, during Black Monday after the Raiders finished with the worst record in the league at 3-14.
With Carroll getting fired, fans soon jumped in to poke fun at him, as well as other coaches who may also be losing their jobs soon on Black Monday.
“Fired before Harbaugh is laughable,” commented one X user.
“The winner here is Pete Carroll for sure. He will get paid for two years to NOT coach the Raiders. Well played sir.” one fan joked.
“From Super Bowl winning HC to worst record in NFL in one season. Las Vegas breaks everyone,” another fan pointed out.
“The Raiders speedrun rebuilds like it’s a yearly tradition, hope the next coach at least gets a loyalty card,” remarked one commenter.
“NFL’s worst record and getting fired after just one year of a three-year deal? 📉 That Raiders experiment went south fast. End of an era for Carroll, but honestly, Vegas needed a hard reset. Who’s even brave enough to take this job now? 🏈💀” one person asked.
“Raiders the biggest trash organization…unserious front office, unserious, dumb & dumber haircut having owner. It’s a complete rebuild situation, but they fire the head coach after 1 season 😭💀” noted another one.
Las Vegas Raiders Now Looking For New Head Coach For Third Consecutive Year After Firing Pete Carroll
The Las Vegas Raiders have had difficulty holding onto coaches over the last few years, with the team often firing the coach they just hired after a disappointing season. After Pete Carroll’s firing, for a third year in a row, the Raiders are now looking for a new head coach… again.
After Josh Gruden resigned in 2021, Josh McDaniels was hired to replace him, but he was fired a year later. Antonio Pierce was hired to replace McDaniels, but he was also out of the job a year later. The Raiders then hired Pete Carroll, and then fired him a year later.
