Dolphins quarterback Quinn Ewers was in Norman this weekend. His girlfriend, Madelyn Barnes, marked the occasion with a strong show of support for the Oklahoma Sooners. She posted several pictures on her Instagram stories, rooting for the program.
Barnes started with a game-day snap alongside a friend, holding a Sooners cup.
“Let’s go Sooners!!!” Barnes captioned her first Instagram story.

She followed it up with another post featuring her and Ewers together on a porch before kickoff. The couple looked relaxed and stylish, adding star presence to the pregame buzz.
“in Norman for a gameday,” Barnes captioned her second IG story.

While Ewers had no role on the field, his appearance in Norman turned plenty of heads and gave fans something extra to talk about before the action. Once the game got underway, Oklahoma and Auburn delivered a physical SEC clash.
Auburn struck first and forced the Sooners to respond, but John Mateer guided Oklahoma’s offense with composure. At halftime, the game was tied at 10. The Sooners finally broke through with a decisive fourth-quarter drive, capped by a touchdown run that put them ahead.
The Sooners took a lead in the third quarter and took the game away in the fourth, outscoring the Tigers 11-7. The defense held strong in the final minutes to seal a 24–17 victory. With this win, Oklahoma extended its unbeaten run.
Auburn, on the other hand, suffered its first loss of the season. In the first three weeks, the Tigers defeated Baylor, Ball State, and South Alabama. However, when they faced another unbeaten team, they seemingly didn’t have an answer for their exceptional defense.
Quinn Ewers is Living His Dream
Ewers was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 2025 NFL Draft. Being an NFL quarterback was his dream since childhood, but it came at a financial cost. Ewers is signed to the Dolphins for a rookie minimum $840,000.
However, if he had continued to play for the Texas Longhorns, he could’ve made much more. But minting money while still being in college wasn’t as important for Ewers as being an NFL quarterback.
“I felt like it was time to pursue my ultimate dream like I was just talking about, and that’s being an NFL quarterback and being an NFL player,” Ewers said Wednesday, as per SI. “Sure, I had opportunities to go continue on and playing college, but I feel like I was ready to take that next step, and I’m glad I did.”
Ewers has been the Dolphins’ emergency quarterback so far. But still, he feels happy being a part of the NFL.
