The Miami Dolphins have been eliminated from playoff contention already, but they have a bright spot near the end of the season after they defeated their cross-state rival, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New QB1 Quinn Ewers was one of the biggest reasons for the win, which saw the Dolphins top the Bucs in a close one, 20-17.
His long-time girlfriend, Madelyn Barnes, also celebrated the big win, sharing a post about the game on her Instagram Stories. It features Quinn Ewers celebrating the close and hard-fought win with his teammates.

Ewers, who had been the long-time quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, finally got his chance to start after the team decided to bench Tua Tagovailoa after repeated bad performances. The Dolphins have already been eliminated, but the Bucs continue to be on the bubble for the playoff hunt, but they are now considered longshots in making it, thanks to the loss against the Dolphins.
As for Madelyn, she attended Texas’ bitter Red River rival, Oklahoma, but she still supported her man despite that. She is a very loyal Sooners fan, but she supported Texas during gamedays. When he got drafted, she followed him to South Florida as he played in his rookie season for the Miami Dolphins.
She has been going viral for her posts supporting Quinn Ewers and her gameday outfits. She has not faltered in her support for him even as he languished on the bench as Tagovailoa’s backup. The Dolphins failed to make the playoffs for the second year in a row, but they have done better than many expected, with their record now at 7-9 and third in the AFC East.
Quinn Ewers Talks About Scoring First Passing TD of NFL Career
This win against the Buccaneers was just the second start of Quinn Ewers’ young career in the NFL, and he got his first career milestone as this was also the game in which he scored his first touchdown pass. He made the pass to fellow rookie Theo Wease Jr., scoring Miami’s longest offensive play of 2025 for a 63-yard touchdown pass. Both rookies were excited about managing to pull that off, but soon began talking about the game-winning ball.
“He came running over to me and was like, ‘Are you going to keep it? You’re going to keep it?'” he said. “And then I was like, ‘I’m going to keep this one. You can have the next one.’ We can share it. How about that? We’ll split it weekly.”
Ewers was 14-of-22 passing for 172 yards with two touchdowns, marking a great game as a starter.
