Puka Nacua Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need To Know About Rams WR Ahead Of Week 7

The Los Angeles Rams won their Sunday game against the Baltimore Ravens, but the victory came at a cost for them. Star wide receiver Puka Nacua suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter of the game and was forced off the field temporarily. And while he returned to the field, he was clearly limited and didn’t perform any more receptions in the second half of the encounter.

He’s now expected to lose some time due to the injury, but how much or even the severity of the injury is still unclear. NFL Network’s reporter Ian Rapoport wrote the following on X this Monday about the player’s status:

“#Rams WR Puka Nacua, the NFL’s leader in catches, suffered an ankle sprain that will likely cause him to miss time, per me and @MikeGarafolo. It would make sense for Nacua to be out next week against the #Jaguars, then LAR has a bye to regroup and assess,”

    What Happened to Puka Nacua?

In the second quarter of the game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, the wide receiver landed awkwardly after a reception attempt. He had to be helped off the field in the aftermath of the play, and while he was able to return to the game in the third quarter, he looked limited and didn’t record any more catches.

Will Puka Nacua Play Week 7?

Unknown at this point, but an ankle sprain is considered a minor injury. He will most likely be off the field in this week’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and with next week being Los Angeles’s bye week, he could potentially have two weeks of recovery.

    Puka Nacua Fantasy Outlook

Fantasy players should look for another wide receiver on their bench to start this weekend, or should potentially look to trade if they don’t have any solid choice. However, we would advise against trading the league’s leader in receptions. His injury appears minor, and given the bye week, he will be back for the Rams game right after this week. However, don’t start him this season, as even if he plays, he will most likely be limited.
