NFL Pro Bowl Roster: Top 5 WR Takeaways As Justin Jefferson Misses Out, George Pickens Earns Debut Spot

The NFL has announced rosters for the 2026 Pro Bowl. As always, there are some players who many fans thought should have made the Pro Bowl but didn’t, with a few questionable selections.

The first positional group announced this morning was the wide receiver group. In the AFC, the 2026 Pro Bowl WRs include: Cincinnati Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase, Houston Texans’ Nico Collins, Baltimore Ravens’ Zay Flowers, and Denver Broncos’ Courtland Sutton. In the NFC, Los Angeles Rams’ Puka Nacua, Dallas Cowboys’ George Pickens, Seattle Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Let’s take a look at five interesting WR takeaways following the WR Pro Bowl rosters:

Top 5 WR Pro Bowl Takeaways

-George Pickens makes debut after stellar season with Dallas

The Dallas Cowboys made an aggressive move this offseason to acquire WR George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers, sending them a third-round pick. It’s paid off as Pickens is one of the most productive receivers in the NFL, being top-10 in receiving yards (1,342), receptions (88), and receiving touchdowns (9.) This is Pickens’ first Pro Bowl nod.

-Justin Jefferson misses second Pro Bowl

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson is still one of the best WRs in the NFL, despite not having a Pro Bowl year. He’s recorded 810 receiving yards on 64 receptions but has only scored twice this season. He’s suffered from bad quarterback play and multiple quarterbacks being hurt.

-Zay Flowers make second questionable Pro Bowl in a row

Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers is a good receiver, but for a second-straight year, he’s made the Pro Bowl over other guys that could have been selected over him. Last year it was Brian Thomas Jr. of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and this year, many think other receivers such as Tee Higgins, Quentin Johnston, or Jaylen Waddle should have been picked over him. Flowers has just two receiving touchdowns and has lost three fumbles this season.

-Tee Higgins snubbed from Pro Bowl, still hasn’t made appearance

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins has missed a few games this season, but s still tied for the third most touchdown receptions with 10. He has 720 receiving yards on 49 receptions, and his numbers would stand out a little more had he not missed time with multiple concussions. Still, Higgins has yet to make a Pro Bowl after multiple productive seasons.

-The NFC’s WRs are far more productive than the AFC’s WRs

When looking at the four receivers selected on each side, it’s clear that the NFC holds much more talent at the WR position. In total, NFC wide receivers have combined for 404 receptions, 5,765 yards, and 38 receiving touchdowns. Compare that to AFC receivers who have combined for 325 receptions, 4,331 yards, and 20 receiving touchdowns.
