“Don’t Care For Joe Burrow”: Video Of Phillip Rivers’ Expressing Dislike For Bengals QB Resurfaces After Colts Signing

The Indianapolis Colts aren’t giving up yet. Despite losing their QB, Daniel Jones, to a season-ending Achilles injury, the Colts look like they are going to keep fighting. The team brought in former quarterback Phillip Rivers to attempt to save their season. While it was surprising in itself, it is not the reason River’s is trending on social media. On a recent post on X by Pete Nova of Faceoff Sports Network, the vet rips into Joe Burrow on an interview on Lance Zierlein’s ESPN radio show.

The clip opens with Zierlein mentioning that some fans thought Burrow had a similar throw to Rivers. In response, Rivers claims that he doesn’t care for Burrow and that he doesn’t watch the young quarterback either. When Zierlein tries to laugh it off, Rivers doubles down. Claiming that Burrow doesn’t look like a quarterback and plays like a wide receiver. He went on to continue to criticize Burrow for the rest of the clip. Rivers’ comments seem to indicate the veteran QB is not a fan at all of Burrow.

“Yeah I don’t care for Joe Burrow, I don’t watch him.”

River’s comments are one thing, but the Colts should be worried about other things. Indy will be fighting for its playoff lives down the last part of the season. With no consistent QB, the incredible start to the season could all be for nothing.

    Is Rivers Going to Start?

While Rivers will be on the team, it doesn’t look like he will touch the field. The Colts have him on the practice squad, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Riley Leonard will probably be leading Indianapolis this week if he can get over his knee injury. If not, Rivers could be under center for Indy this weekend.

Can the Colts still make the Playoffs?

The path seems pretty clear for Indy. They just need to get some wins down the stretch. Losing three in a row has definitely hurt them, but it is all out in front of them. The only issue is that all their remaining games are against playoff-hopeful teams. The Jaguars and Texans to close out the season will likely be the most important, though. Wins in both of those should have them at least on the edge of playoff birth.

    Bottom Line

While Rivers is returning to the Colts, he could be on the bench as Indy finishes its season. His comments towards the younger Joe Burrow haven’t seen a response, but have given NFL fans plenty to talk about on social media. For now, the Colts will have their eyes on Sunday, where their game could make or break their postseason hopes.
