Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ performance in Monday Night Football’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars came under intense scrutiny after the three-time Super Bowl champion was picked off and gave up a 99-yard pick-six to Devin Lloyd of the Jaguars.
The play happened late in the third quarter when a promising Kansas City drive came to a close after Mahomes’ pass was intercepted by Lloyd near the goal line. Lloyd went the other way for a touchdown. The Jaguars took a 20-14 lead after that play, swinging the game in their favor.

Seeing this play unfold, fans on the internet started bashing Mahomes, with one fan saying:
“Mahomes is officially washed.”
“The worst part is that I don’t think Mahomes could’ve placed this ball any better,” another fan wrote.
“And this bum is supposed to be a top 10 QB of all time ? 😭😭😭💀😭” one fan asked.
“Mahomes with the most unathletic attempt at a tackle I have ever seen,” another fan called out the QB for lackluster defense.
“Not really a jags fan but watching this live had me like ‘how bout them fu*ing jags🤬!’ Win this game and I’ll tune in for the rest of the season,” one fan said.
“Surprised it wasn’t called back with a phantom flag 😂,” another fan wrote.
Before the pick-six, Mahomes was efficient in the game, completing 14 of 17 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Patrick Mahomes Lauded Jacksonville’s Defense Before The Game
Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City was 2-2 entering their game against Jacksonville, which was 3-1. The quarterback praised the Jaguars’ defense and their ability to force turnovers.
“Yeah, I think they’re, first off, very fundamentally sound,” Mahomes told reporters. “And when you have a fundamentally sound defense that’s that talented with the amount of players that they have at every single level of the defense, that’s a hard defense to go against. And they do a great job attacking the football.”
“They’re causing the turnovers, not like the turnovers are just happening there. They’re punching the football, they’re tipping passes, they’re intercepting the football, and they get their hands on it,” he added.
Coming into this game, the Chiefs quarterback has passed for 939 passing yards in 2025, including seven touchdowns and one interception. His QBR (Quarterback Rating) is 75.1, which ranks third in the league.
