Pat Bryan Injury Update: Broncos Receive Positive News As WR Discharged From Hospital After Scary Hit

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Pat Bryant was released from the hospital Sunday evening after he suffered a critical injury in the team’s 34-20 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the hospital discharge update and shared that he suffered a concussion but avoided other major injuries.

After the game, Nix expressed how unsettling it was to watch Bryant being carted off the field following the brutal hit.

“You never want to see somebody in that situation, and I feel responsible because I threw it,” Nix said. “You can say it’s part of the game, but you just never want to see it. [I] really pray he’s OK and he can be back out there as soon as he can. … That was a tough situation.”

Other Broncos players also shared their thoughts on the scary injury:

“Obviously very scary,” Broncos tackle Mike McGlinchey said.

Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton added:

“You never want to see one of your brothers go down. The guy plays with best effort, best character for a young guy. He’s a great dude and you hate to see him down with an injury. Keep him in our prayers that he’s going to be OK.”

    What Happened To Pat Bryant?

The injury happened in the fourth quarter of the game at Empower Field at Mile High. While attempting to catch a reception from quarterback Bo Nix, Pat Bryant went up and right then, he collided with Jaguars defensive back Montaric Brown.

After hitting the ground, Bryant was motionless on the field and had to be carted off on a stretcher. As a precautionary measure, he was rushed to the hospital.

Initially, concerns arose that he might have suffered potential neck or spinal trauma. However, after testing and imaging, that Bryant suffered only a concussion and he was cleared of any potential spine injuries. He has entered the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton was filled with optimism after watching Pat Bryant move his hands and legs after the brutal hit.

After the latest update from Payton, it appears Bryant avoided a major injury; he will be back on the field once he clears concussion protocol.
