The Jacksonville Jaguars revealed their first injury report for Week 11, and it included wide receiver Parker Washington. This concerned many fans as he was involved in 87% of the offensive snaps for Week 10, and he has been one of the team’s biggest producers on offense.
The Jaguars had a total of 64 offensive snaps against the Houston Texans on Sunday, and Washington was involved on 54 of them, including having to do a pair of punt return attempts. This means that he has been doing a ton of heavy lifting for the team in that game, and this may have already taken its toll on the wide receiver.
What Happened to Parker Washington?
In that game against the Houston Texans, which the Jaguars lost 29-36 on Sunday, Washington managed to finish the game despite the heavy workload. He had a team-high four targets for 33 receiving yards, catching three of them, including a touchdown pass. Many thought he was okay until he appeared on the team’s injury report.
The report noted that Washington had been dealing with a hamstring issue, thus missing the Wednesday practice. It is still uncertain whether he would still be able to practice on Thursday, as the team has not provided many updates on his exact condition just yet.
Parker Washington Fantasy Outlook
So far, fantasy managers would have to wait and see if Washington is healthy enough to play on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. The lack of updates from the team has clouded the outlook, but it is possible that they are also just letting him rest up after his performance against the Texans last Sunday.
Parker Washington would be a solid pick normally, but Fantasy managers should air on the side of caution for this week, as his injury might be a serious one.
Should You Start Parker Washington or Tez Johnson This Week
While Parker Washington may possibly be out with an injury, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Tez Johnson’s stock has been rising as he has shown that he could perform well and is making the most of Chris Godwin’s absence due to injury.
That being said, should Fantasy managers go for the possibly injured Washington or the rising Johnson? It should be safe to go with Johnson, as the rookie is hungry to prove himself as much as possible, especially now that Chris Godwin might be returning soon.
