Will Omarion Hampton Play Week 13? Latest Injury Update And Fantasy Outlook On Chargers RB Ahead Of Week 13

The Los Angeles Chargers’ rushing game had taken a hit when running back Omarion Hampton went down with injuries, with the injury bug biting hard on the Chargers running back room. Hampton has been listed on the injured reserve and is now eligible to return, but will he be able to?

Hampton has been on the injured reserve since Week 5 and has been eligible to return since Week 10. He was still listed on the injured reserve on Week 11, though he got a reprieve as the Chargers had a bye on Week 12. Will that one extra week to rest up and heal be enough to get the running back to return?

    What Happened To Omarion Hampton?

The Los Angeles Chargers’ original quarterback was Najee Harris, though his season ended early after he tore his Achilles tendon, with RB1 duties now being passed on to Omarion Hampton. However, he suffered an ankle injury on Week 5 and was soon placed on the injured reserve.

Ahead of the bye week, Daniel Popper of The Athletic spoke with Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, who informed him that they expect that Hampton’s activation window should be opened after the Week 12 bye. As of Tuesday, Hampton has not been activated yet and is still in the injured reserve.

Is Omarion Hampton Playing Week 13?

For now, as Omarion Hampton has not been activated yet, it is still unclear if he would be back in time for the Week 13 showdown against the Las Vegas Raiders. Given that he has been healing and had some extra time to do so because of the bye, there is a good chance that he would return on Sunday. However, his return is not yet guaranteed, as no official word has been revealed yet.

    Omarion Hampton Fantasy Outlook

As for how his Fantasy outlook will go, should he return, Omarion Hampton will be a good pickup. When he was still healthy, he rushed for 417 yards on 96 carries with two touchdowns and has been solid throughout. He has reportedly been practicing, which is a good sign, but unless his official status has been released, Fantasy managers should just hold for a bit.
