Cam Skattebo is still finding his footing in the NFL. The rookie running back joined the New York Giants earlier this year and has been working to earn a steady role in the team’s rotation. While his on-field performance continues to develop, it’s something off the field that caught everyone’s attention this week.
Skattebo recently showed off a new diamond-studded grill on his teeth in a short video that quickly spread online. The clip was reposted on X, where fans wasted no time roasting the young player.
Many criticized him for focusing on flashy accessories instead of improving his game. One fan even warned him to stay focused and not end up like OBJ, drawing an interesting parallel to Odell Beckham Jr., who also began his NFL career with the Giants.
“Stay grounded. Don’t end up like OBJ,” a fan WROTE.

“This dude is morphing into Riff Raff,” a fan wrote.
“He grew up listening to Paul Wall, now he runs through walls?” a fan wrote.
“This is why most NFL players are broke after their career ends. He needs @ArianFoster in his ear ASAP,” a fan wrote.
Not all fans were harsh on the 23-year-old for trying out a new accessory. Some fans praised him for it and asked others to have faith in him.
“A lot of Johnny Football vibes coming off this guy. Hopefully, he can keep things together,” a fan WROTE.

“That’s flex energy in the game,” a fan wrote.
Skattebo has a long way to go in the NFL. One of the reasons why the visuals might’ve ticked off some fans could be the fact that the Giants are struggling once again. They are 2-5 so far this season. However, a rookie can’t get them back on track, so it’s better if he enjoys his life doing what he wants.
Giants, Brian Daboll, and Cam Skattebo Hit With Heavy Fines
The attention on Skattebo comes shortly after he and the Giants were fined by the NFL. The incident took place during Week 6 of the season, when quarterback Jaxson Dart was taken to the sideline medical tent for a concussion evaluation.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll and Skattebo were both seen entering the tent while the exam was still underway. A joint review by the NFL and NFLPA found that the team’s medical staff followed concussion protocol correctly, but the presence of non-medical personnel violated league rules.
Under those rules, only essential medical staff can be in the tent during such evaluations. The league fined the Giants $200,000 for the breach, while Daboll was personally fined $100,000. Skattebo received a $15,000 fine for his role in the incident.
In total, the organization and the individuals involved were penalized $315,000.
