The clock is ticking for the NFL trade deadline and for teams to improve their roster/get rid of some players for value.
Teams who are struggling such as the Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders could be sellers while teams who are in good position to compete for a Super Bowl such as the Kansas City Chiefs and others could be buyers.
The 2025 NFL trade deadline will expire on November 5, at 4:00 p.m. Before then, there will be some action between teams that will likely see some players moved.
Here’s a look at five potential trades that could happen prior to the deadline.
5 NFL Trades That Could Happen Before the Trade Deadline
Kansas City Chiefs acquire Tony Pollard for a 2026 6th-round pick
The Kansas City Chiefs have struggled running the ball the season. The leading rusher is Isiah Pacheco, who has just 329 rushing yards, and one touchdown. Through eight games, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is still the team’s leading rusher. The Titans are known to be sellers, and they could move Tony Pollard, who they signed to a three-year deal prior to the 2024 season.
New York Jets trade Breece Hall to Los Angeles Chargers for 2026 4th-round pick
Another team in need of a boost at the running back position is the Los Angeles Chargers. They lost Najee Harris for the year in Week 3, and shortly after, rookie Omarion Hampton was sent to IR with an ankle injury. He ahs yet to return back to the field. The Chargers could boost their backfield immediately by acquiring Breece Hall from the Jets, who is on the final deal of his rookie contract.
Las Vegas Raiders trade Jakobi Meyers to Pittsburgh Steelers for 2026 5th-round pick
At 2-5, the Las Vegas Raiders’ playoff chances are slim. They could look to rebuild its roster next season, and they can start by dishing wide receiver Jakobi Meyers for some value. The Pittsburgh Steelers need help at wide receiver and could add a receiver that’s on the trade market to help out quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the offense.
New York Giants trade Russell Wilson to Minnesota Vikings for 2026 6th-round pick, and 7th-round pick swaps
With Carson Wentz done for the year with a shoulder injury, the Minnesota Vikings have two rookie quarterbacks active on its roster that have combined to start just two career games. If JJ McCarty suffers another injury, they’re in deep trouble. Adding Russell Wilson would give them insurance and a good emergency option if needed for a cheap price.
Miami Dolphins trade Jalen Phillips to Kansas City Chiefs for 2026 4th-round pick
The Kansas City Chiefs need an upgrade in their pass-rush rotation. George Karlaftis is the only player on the defense with more than two sacks this season. Phillips is in the final year of his rookie contract with the Dolphins, and the Dolphins could be looking to get some value out of him before moving on from him if they do so next season.
