Week 8 of the fantasy football season is here. Thursday Night Football already took place, with the Los Angeles Chargers defeating the Minnesota Vikings 37-10. However, the vast majority of games will be played on Sunday, and then one on Monday night. However, there are a few teams that are not in action this week. Six are on their bye weeks and will not be in action in Week 8. Here is a look at each of them and the fantasy impact of their absence.
NFL Teams with a Bye in Week 8
Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals are on a bye this week, but that should not impact fantasy owners too much. The team does not have many players who are must-starts on fantasy rosters. Tight end Trey McBride is the most notable player who will be out of action.
Detroit Lions
With Detroit on a bye, there are a few key players out for fantasy football owners. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs is out of action and will need to be replaced. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and TE Sam LaPorta are also notable fantasy players who will not be available in Week 8.
Jacksonville Jaguars
While Jacksonville has been a strong team this season, it is not a team beaming with fantasy viable players. WR Brian Thomas Jr. and RB Travis Etienne are solid fantasy options, but not superstars. Two-way rookie Travis Hunter is also out, but he has not lived up to fantasy expectations.
Las Vegas Raiders
Rookie RB Ashton Jeanty has been the most valuable fantasy player on the Raiders this season. His absence will need to be addressed by fantasy owners. TE Brock Bowers is also a viable option that fantasy owners will need to find a replacement for on the waiver wire.
Los Angeles Rams
With the Rams on a bye this week, WR Puka Nacua is out of action. He is one of the top WR options in the league and a huge loss for fantasy owners this week. RB Kyren Williams and WR Davante Adams are also fantasy starters who need to be replaced.
Seattle Seahawks
WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been arguably the best fantasy wide receiver this season. His absence will seriously hurt his owners this week. However, he is the only fantasy star on the Seahawks’ roster.
