NFL Survivor Pool Week 8: Best Picks, Biggest Risks, and Trap Games to Watch

It’s Week 8 of the NFL season, and survivor pools are getting a little tense as 7 teams are officially off the board. One wrong move this week could be the end of a great run, and strategy will be the most important factor going forward. Although some picks are still out there, they need to stay alive for another week. Here is the Week 8 Survivor Pool breakdown.

    Safe Picks

    Indianapolis Colts

The Colts are taking on the Tennessee Titans in a divisional matchup in which they are double-digit favorites. This one couldn’t be more lopsided, with the Titans sitting at 1-6 and the Colts shaping up to be one of the best teams in the AFC. With Daniel Jones leading the offense, this looks like one of the easiest picks of the week. Hopefully, Indy hasn’t been taken off your board just yet.

    Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have been a reliable survivor pick over the last few years, but a shaky start to the season this year put the brakes on them for most participants. They take on a struggling Washington Commanders team, which could be missing Jaylen Daniels after he left early in last week’s game. That, combined with a poor Washington defense, makes the Chiefs look like an absolute lock this week.

    Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons are playing the Miami Dolphins this week and look like a good value on paper. Atlanta’s defense has been playing well above average, and Miami looks completely lost on both sides of the ball. The Falcons’ offense should do enough to give them the win, which is all that is needed in a survivor pick.

    Biggest Risks

    Buffalo Bills

The Bills look like a safe pick against the Carolina Panthers, but Carolina has quietly turned things around. Rico Dowdle has been on fire, and this week they face a Bills defense that gives up 5.8 yards per carry. This could be a game that flips on the Bills if the Panthers can control the game.

    Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers take on the Minnesota Vikings after a 14-point loss against the Indianapolis Colts last week. Both teams are unpredictable with how they have been playing as of late, which is a huge red flag for survivor participants. Justin Herbert could get his team on track against an up-and-down Vikings offense, but this one could go either way.

    Trap Games

Philadelphia Eagles & New York Giants

Both teams here are dangerous picks for pools this week. The Eagles are the favorites and look like the better team right now, but the same thing happened a few weeks ago, and the Giants came out with the win. This divisional game is looking more unpredictable than predictable, which is an easy game to stay away from in survivor.

    Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are taking on the New York Jets, and while Cincinnati seems like the easy pick, it could go either way. The Bengals are playing better, but it is only a matter of time before the Jets get their first win. Stay away from this one and take one of the safer plays for the week.

    Bottom Line

If the Colts are still available, use them and have a sweat-free Sunday. If not, the Chiefs and Falcons are your next best options to stay upright. The biggest mistake that could be made this week is undervaluing struggling teams that are in desperation mode. Take the smart picks and move on to another week.
