NFL Accused Of Rigging By Fans As Nico Collins Goes Missing After Massive 57-Yard Start vs Cardinals

In the first 49 seconds of the game, the Texans took a 7-0 lead. Nico Collins ran for 57 yards to the end zone after a pass from C.J. Stroud to give his team the lead. When a player starts there, one would assume the sky is the limit.

Surprisingly, that became the highlight of the game for him as Collins went missing for the remainder of the game. It didn’t take long for the fans to notice that and raise their voice on the internet.

Several fans flocked to social media, primarily X, to express concerns that something shady was going on. Some fans went as far as to claim that the NFL was rigging games. Needless to say, these are frustrated reactions.

“Nico “got the call” Collins. First drive – 1 catch 57 yards & touchdown. Remainder of game – 1 target 0 catches. The NFL is such bullsh*t man,” a fan wrote.

“Nico Collins scored a 57 yard TD on the first drive and CJ Stroud already forgot he exists,” a fan wrote.

“Nico Collins catches a 50+ yard touchdown so naturally he doesn’t get another look for the rest of the game. Makes sense,” a fan wrote.

“Nico Collins one catch in a blow out is inexcusable idc. I want to see more for my star player,” a fan wrote.

“Nico Collins after starting the game with a 50 yard TD,” a fan posted.

“Nico Collins after 1 catch for a TD,” a fan wrote.

The Texans registered a blowout win against the Cardinals. After taking a 17-point lead in the first quarter, they remained in control of the game throughout and closed it off with a dominant fourth-quarter performance to win 40-20.

    Nico Collins Made Franchise History

Collins finished the game with just 85 yards and two touchdowns. Considering where he started, this could’ve been a performance to remember for a very long time. Regardless, he ended up making history.

Going into the game, Collins had 916 yards with four touchdowns so far this season. After the performance against the Cardinals, he became only the third ever Texan, after Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins, to register three consecutive 1000-yard seasons.

In 2024, he had 1006 yards, and in 2023, he had 1297 yards. With three more games left on the slate, Collins has the opportunity to make this the most successful season of his career so far.
