NFL Fans in Awe as Justin Herbert’s Injury Update Offers Surprise Hope

To the delight of his fans and supporters, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert may be returning sooner rather than later. On Monday, Dec. 1, a report was published by football analyst Adam Schefter through his X/Twitter, discussing the most recent update on Herbert’s injury, a fracture in his left hand that he suffered in his team’s most recent game.

In Schefter’s report, it was detailed that Herbert underwent successful surgery on the same day in Los Angeles, California. The team then announced that Herbert is considered questionable to play in the squad’s next game. Coming off surgery, Herbert is already being checked for a potential return in the team’s next matchup.

Football fans and spectators were in awe that Herbert is already listed as day-to-day despite recent surgery.

“Justin Herbert just broke the same hand again and still dropped two touchdowns while playing through it. Most quarterbacks would have sat out the second something popped but he finished the game and the Chargers won by 17. People keep saying he is fragile yet he is out there throwing dimes with a fractured bone in his non throwing hand. The offensive line is the real problem not his body,” one fan explained.

“Jim Harbaugh finally has this team rolling and now the same injury happens twice in three years. Protect your quarterback better or the playoff run is going to end early again. Herbert is tougher than half the league gives him credit for,” the same fan continued.

“Day to day after a surgery?! Bro’s a warrior,” another fan wrote.

“Tuff 😭,” a fan claimed with a crying emoji.

“Hey Adam, sounds like Herbert’s got a plan to cook!,” a user said.

Other X users doubted Herbert and the Chargers, given the recent development.

“Getting a fracture fixed and being listed as ‘day-to-day’ is like patching a cracked phone screen and expecting it to survive a drop tomorrow. Spoiler: it probably won’t,” one user pointed out.

“Translation: Justin Herbert will play anyways. The worst O-line in the sport and one usable hand means nada,” another user shared.

“On his Aaron Rodgers grind,” another asserted.

Whether or not he plays his team’s next game, Herbert is seemingly doing well with his recovery process, according to recent updates. Coach Jim Harbaugh‘s Chargers’ next game is against the 2024 Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, in Week 14 on their home pitch, the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Herbert is currently in the sixth year of his NFL career.

The Los Angeles Chargers Currently Have Double The Amount Of Wins As Opposed To Their Losses

As it stands, the 2025 Los Angeles Chargers have an overall record of 8-4, which momentarily places them as the second seed in the AFC West standings.

Prior to an intense matchup against the reigning champions, the Chargers defeated the Las Vegas Raiders by a staggering 17 points, 31-14, at their home stadium, as they look to carry over that momentum into their next game.
