Black Monday has hit several head coaches across the NFL, with the Las Vegas Raiders among the teams that send their head coach packing. Disappointing finishes and unmet expectations are often the reason for the dismissals of head coaches and GMs at this time of the season.
Here’s the full list of teams that have officially fired their head coach:
NFL Coaches Fired Today: Las Vegas Raiders & Others
1) Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders have dismissed Pete Carroll after just one season, after they finished with a 3-14 record, the league’s worst mark. While the Raiders finished the regular season strong with a 14-12 win against the Kansas City Chiefs, the oldest head coach in the NFL was fired at the age of 74. As a parting gift, the head coach left the Raiders the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
2) Cleveland Browns
After two straight playoff misses, the Cleveland Browns have asked Kevin Stefanski to clear his locker. This marks an end to the association after six seasons, with the latest season ending with a 5-12 record. In their statement, the Browns said the results weren’t satisfactory, which led them to make the harsh decision.
3) Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons fired head coach Raheem Morris alongside general manager Terry Fontenot after another losing season. Despite the 19-17 win over the New Orleans Saints in the end, the 8-9 record wasn’t good enough for Morris to save his job. Their four-game winning streak that tied for the lead in the NFC South went in vain as the Carolina Panthers went through.
4) Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals fired head coach Jonathan Gannon after three seasons, in which he went 15-36. The decision came after the Cardinals finished the season with a 3–14 record, including a nine-game losing streak to close the year.
Some teams fired their head coaches mid-season. Let’s take a look at them as well:
5) New York Giants
After a 2-8 start to the season, the New York Giants fired Brian Daboll. Mike Kafka was asked to take over as the head coach for the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, the ownership has decided to retain general manager Joe Schoen.
6) Tennessee Titans
After a 1-5 start to the season, the Tennessee Titans fired head coach Brian Callahan mid-way through into the season. This leaves the Titans as another team who require to hire head coach before the 2026 season.
