It’s been nearly eight months since LeBron James confronted Stephen A. Smith during a Lakers-Knicks game over the latter’s comments on his son, Bronny James. Surprisingly, that saga is still not over. With his recent comments on LBJ and the incident that took place in March, SAS has reignited the flames.
Last week, Stephen A. went on The Pivot Podcast and talked about James once again. He insinuated that there was a race factor involved in James’ confrontation, which hasn’t sat well with him all these months later.
Former NFL star Marcellus Wiley recently discussed the new angle that Smith has added in his ongoing feud with the Lakers star. Wiley didn’t mince his words and called out Smith for playing the race card, which he believes wasn’t necessary at all.
Wiley also trashed Smith for finding new ways to attack James months later and stated that the “crowd” also has “receipts” on him.
“Stephen A. Smith has receipts on LeBron, but guess what, the crowd has receipts on you,” Wiley said. “Right now, the race card is being played by Stephen A. Smith on his own race. In this situation, Stephen A. Smith obviously should let it go, but he’s not.”

Wiley argued that Smith was wrong for what he said about Bronny. He believes that giving LBJ parenting advice on national TV crossed a line. As per Wiley, saying, “LeBron, I’m pleading with you as a father…” is what ticked off the four-time NBA Champion.
Now, instead of acknowledging that he was wrong and that he shouldn’t have said that, Smith is trying to paint himself as a victim. Wiley said that any father would’ve taken offense to those words, and that’s something Smith has been unable to understand so far.
Stephen A. Smith Called Out LeBron James
During his appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Smith talked about James and tried to present him as someone who has double standards. Smith claimed that James has never confronted a “white boy” from the media, despite whatever they’ve said or written about him.
Smith stated that James has only called out Brian Windhorst once, and even that was unnecessary because Windhorst has covered him since high school.
“You ever seen LeBron go at a white boy? Let’s call it what it is,” Smith said. “Closest you ever came to seeing him to do something like that when he called out Brian Windhorst…[Windhorst] has praised you repeatedly and you used the Pat McAfee situation to go at him.” (From 24:50)
Smith revealed that when he did his monologue following James’ comments on McAfee’s show, he received word that James would no longer talk about him in public. Smith also claimed that he has receipts not just for James, and that he is a fair-minded individual.
