NFC Playoff Picture: Who’s In And Who’s Out As Eagles Maintain Top Spot, Lions Fall Down Rankings

Tonight’s Week 11 NFL slate concludes with an NFC-AFC showdown as the Las Vegas Raiders play host to the Dallas Cowboys. With Las Vegas (2-7) and Dallas (3-5-1) being outside of the playoff picture, the rest of the playoff picture is pretty much set for this week as all the other action from Week 11 has passed.

Things are interesting in the NFC playoff picture. Three teams out of the NFC West division alone are currently playoff bound. The conference has two teams with winning records currently not in the postseason.

Before tonight’s game kicks off in Las Vegas, let’s take a look at the current NFC playoff picture.

    NFC Playoff Picture After Week 11 – Who’s In & Who’s Not

    Who’s in:

Currently, the four divisional leaders in the NFC are the Philadelphia Eagles (8-2), Los Angeles Rams (8-2), Chicago Bears (7-3), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-4.) Those four teams are currently the 1-4 seeds in the NFC in order.

The Seattle Seahawks (7-3), Green Bay Packers (6-3-1), and the San Francisco 49ers (7-4) are the three wildcard teams, holding seed 5-7 in that order.

    Who’s Out:

The biggest surprise team that is currently not in the playoffs is the Detroit Lions (6-4.) This is a team that has been viewed as Super Bowl contenders the last few seasons. Its loss to the Eagles last night hurt saw them slide in the seeding numbers.

The other team with a winning record in the NFC that currently isn’t playoff bound is the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have been putting it together and have been rallying behind quarterback Bryce Young, who has the Panthers at 6-5.

The 10th and 11th seeds, the Minnesota Vikings (4-6) and the Dallas Cowboys (3-5-1), each have over a 5% chance of making the playoffs according to the NFL.com playoff predictor. The Atlanta Falcons at 3-7 have just a 2% chance at making the playoffs.

The Arizona Cardinals (3-7), Washington Commanders (3-8), New Orleans Saints (2-8), and the New York Giants (2-9), each have a 1% chance at making the playoffs.
