The New York Jets continued to struggle over the weekend. Playing on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean did nothing to help them as they lost 13-11 to the Denver Broncos. It was the Jets’ sixth straight loss to start the season, and they continue to be the only team in the NFL to remain winless.
As a result, the team’s playoff hopes are near zero at this stage. So, it is not a surprise to hear that other NFL teams are starting to inquire about trades for some of QB Justin Fields’ teammates ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline.
On Monday, insider Dov Kleiman reported that several teams have called to ask the Jets about trading for linebacker Jermaine Johnson, who is signed to a four-year, $13,087,443 contract. This is the final guaranteed year of the contract. Next year, there is a team option to keep him under contract.

This is Johnson’s fourth season with the Jets. He was drafted by the team in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft. In three games this season, he has registered 12 total tackles, including six solo efforts and one sack. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2023.
The New York Jets Should Have a Chance to Pick Up Their First Win in the Coming Weeks
Quarterback Justin Fields has not performed well this season, and trading away his teammates will not help the Jets pick up any wins. Despite that, the team should have a good chance of picking up a win in the next few weeks. The team’s next three games are against the Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cleveland Browns.
All three teams have major weaknesses, whether it is because of roster construction or injuries. In their current states, they are viewed as three of the weakest teams in the league. As a result, the Jets should be able to get their first win of the year. If they can’t, the Jets could be in the midst of a historically bad season.
