Mike Vrabel Responds to Stefon Diggs Allegations as Pressure Mounts

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel is not yet thinking too deeply about the allegations made against a couple of his players, as they have not yet been proven. On Wednesday, Dec. 31, NFL reporter Dov Kleiman uploaded a clip on X/Twitter wherein Vrabel was asked about the allegations against Patriots standouts Stefon Diggs and Christian Barmore.

Diggs is facing a case of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge for assault against a female private chef who recently served Diggs. The player apparently owed her money. On the other hand, Barmore is also facing a misdemeanor charge for assault, along with a battery charge, against a family member. Nevertheless, Vrabel is sticking to the ‘innocent until proven guilty’ notion.

“Well, I would say not disappointing at all. I think that, you know, these are allegations, like you mentioned in your question. It’s things that we have to handle and every day that there’s distractions. Some are smaller than others, and, you know, I’m confident that, you know, we’ll focus on the, the Dolphins and, you know, those two individuals that you mentioned will, you know, be able to, you know, handle the ongoing legal process,” Vrabel said.

The Patriots currently have an overall record of 13-3 and are the first seed in the AFC East. Looking to return to the glory days of when NFL legend and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady was still on the squad, the Patriots will aim to continue on the momentum of their current two-game winning streak on Sunday, Jan. 4, against the Miami Dolphins.

New England Patriots Are Siding With Stefon Diggs At The Moment

In a report by Mike Reiss, published on ESPN, the New England Patriots franchise has released a statement regarding the case against Stefon Diggs.

Similar to coach Mike Vrabel, the team is sticking to the facts and is siding with Diggs before any charges are proven. Nevertheless, the Patriots squad asserted that they are fully cooperating with authorities on the matter.

“We support Stefon. We will continue to gather information and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary. Out of respect for all parties involved, and given that this is an ongoing legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time,” the team said.
