Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL since he entered the league in 2014. He’s recorded 11-straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons to begin his career, a record that nobody else has accomplished.
In the team’s first three games of the 2024 season, Evans recorded 14 catches for 140 yards and had a receiving touchdown. Unfortunately for him, he went down in Week 3 and hasn’t played since.
What Happened to Mike Evans?
Mike Evans suffered a hamstring injury against the New York Jets in Week 3. He limped off the field and did not return to the game. He’s missed the team’s last three games due to his injury.
Evans has suffered multiple hamstring injuries in his career, but nothing has ever sidelined him for a significant amount of time.
Will Mike Evans Play This Weekend?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Detroit Lions on Monday night. This gives Mike Evans an extra day of rest as he looks to return from his injury.
Per multiple reports, Evans plans on returning to the practice field today.

Still, there hasn’t been a word on whether or not he will suit up this weekend. If Evans is inactive this week, a return next week against the New Orleans Saints seems very likely.
Mike Evans Fantasy Outlook
Mike Evans could possibly make his return this week. If he doesn’t, his return will be very soon in the next week or two. If fantasy owners have held on to Evans since his Week 3 injury, then there’s no sense in moving him.
When healthy, Evans is one of the best and most consistent wideouts in the NFL. The Buccaneers need him back sooner rather than later, with other receivers such as Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, and Jalen McMillan being injured.
With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-1 and with quarterback Baker Mayfield playing like an MVP, Evans should have no problem being the productive receiver that he is when he makes his return to the field.
