‘He’s Michael Jordan 2.0’: NFL Fans React As $300M Worth Tom Brady Named Among Chip Kelly’s Biggest Advocates Amid Abrupt Giants Firing

Tom Brady is catching heat again, and this time it has nothing to do with his playing career. After the New York Giants abruptly fired Chip Kelly, reports resurfaced linking Brady to the push that put Kelly in the building.

Brady’s backing was strong, vocal, and influential. With Kelly now out after a disastrous run, fans are drawing comparisons that sting a little more than usual. A growing section of the NFL community is calling Brady “Michael Jordan 2.0.” Not because of greatness on the field, but because of questionable decision-making off it.

Jordan was arguably the greatest to ever touch a basketball, but his run as an NBA owner is remembered for the wrong reasons, bad signings, failed draft picks, and constant misfires. Fans believe Brady is walking down the same road.

    “He’s Michael Jordan 2.0,” a fan WROTE.

“Didn’t Brady also push for Geno smith over signing Sam Darnold? He also picked old ass Pete Carroll over young upcoming coordinator. Jeanty, a RB, over OT. Bad so far,” a fan wrote.

“Jordan was the great but did a terrible job of running the wizards and hornets. Brady could be that person too,” a fan wrote.

“20 years later Brady still hurting the Raiders,” a fan wrote.

“So goats suck at managing teams noted,” a fan wrote.

“Thought it would work as well. Scammed by an old man,” a fan wrote.

The Kelly hire is the latest example fueling the narrative that legendary players don’t always transition into brilliant decision-makers.

Tom Brady’s Week 12 Power Rankings

Brady also made waves with his latest Week 12 power rankings. The biggest jolt came when he knocked the Philadelphia Eagles out of the top spot. Their late-game collapse in Dallas clearly impacted his evaluation.

Instead of keeping them at No. 1, he pushed them down to No. 4. He acknowledged their problems on offense and the inconsistencies that showed up in the second half, but Brady still sees them as a tough team built to recover.

The top spot now belongs to the Los Angeles Rams. Brady bumped them up to No. 1 after their dominant primetime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“Making their debut in the No. 1 spot is a Rams team you know I’ve loved all season long,” Brady said. “They dismantled a strong Tampa team at home on Sunday night and look poised to make a deep run into the playoffs. The only question I have: Are they peaking too early in LA? It’s a good problem to have.”

His only lingering thought is whether they may be hitting their stride earlier than ideal, but even that comes across as a good-type problem for a contender.
