Miami Dolphins RB Depth Chart: Latest Update and Position Outlook for Week 7

The Miami Dolphins have been struggling a lot this season, with just only one win in their record. This has been made worse by the many injuries that the team has suffered, famously losing superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill to a career-ending injury. However, the team has also had problems with one particular running back getting injured.

During the Dolphins’ preseason opener against the Chicago Bears, running back Alexander Mattison suffered a season-ending neck injury. He had to be rushed via ambulance to a local hospital and had to get surgery, causing him to miss out the entire 2025 season. Mattison reportedly landed on his head after getting a 21-yard reception early in the fourth quarter.

As the Miami Dolphins head to Week 7 against the also-struggling Cleveland Browns, the question of how deep is their running back room going to be against Dillon Gabriel and company?

Miami Dolphins RB Depth Chart For Week 7

    RB1: De’Von Achane

The former Texas A&M running back has been very good for the Miami Dolphins, being one of the team’s few shining lights despite its many struggles during the 2025 season. He has had several big finishes in the season so far, with 128 yards on 16 carries and two rushing touchdowns. He also has four receptions on 22 receiving yards.

His elite performances have been largely overshadowed by his team’s many struggles, however, as he has been trying to carry the Dolphins with his stellar plays but still failing to deliver the wins.

    RB2: Ollie Gordon II

With Achane playing well for the Dolphins, Ollie Gordon has had not much chance to shine, only being inserted to rest up their QB1. However, Gordon has shown that he can deliver, as he has had 59 rushing yards on 23 carries, resulting in one rushing touchdown. He also has three receptions on five receiving yards, though he is yet to score a receiving touchdown.

    QB3: Jaylen Wright

Wright has yet to prove himself this season, as the third-string running back still has not played yet for the 2025 season. However, in his career so far, he already has 249 rushing yards on 68 carries, though he has not yet scored a single touchdown. He also has three receptions on eight receiving yards, and he has yet to score a touchdown on that department as well.

    QB4: Alexander Mattison (IR)

While the other three are ok and will be expected to suit up against the Cleveland Browns, Mattison is slated to miss the entire season because of his season-ending neck surgery.
