The Miami Dolphins are facing a storm of criticism after dropping their second straight game of the season. A week after being dominated by the Colts, Miami returned home, hoping to bounce back.
Instead, they fell 33-27 to the New England Patriots in a frustrating contest that has fans calling for sweeping changes in the coaching staff. The game got off to a disastrous start for Miami.
By halftime, Miami’s defense had already surrendered multiple big plays, and their offense continued to misfire, unable to establish rhythm. Despite the poor start, Miami clawed its way back into the game. But the joy was short-lived.
This loss came on the heels of a Week 1 embarrassment against the Colts, where the Dolphins looked flat on both sides of the ball and managed just one score. Back-to-back defeats have magnified concerns about their poor preparation, sloppy execution, and questionable decision-making.
With high expectations ahead of the season, patience among the fanbase has evaporated quickly. Many are demanding accountability, with both head coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier facing intense scrutiny.
“Chris Grier, Mike McDaniel and Anthony Weaver should be unemployed on Monday morning. Stephen Ross should sell the team too. This Dolphins team is hands down one of the worst teams I’ve watched,” a fan wrote.
“FIRE GRIER, FIRE MCDANIEL,” Miami fans paid for a plane to fly over the stadium with the sign.

“I wouldn’t wish Dolphins fandom on anyone,” a fan wrote.
The Dolphins have talent across the roster, but their inability to convert it into wins has ignited frustration. Calls for change are growing louder with every mistake.
Miami HC Mike McDaniel on the Pressure That Comes With His Job
The Dolphins have been looking to turn things around for a while. The preseason matchups gave fans some hope as they won two of the three preseason games against the Lions and the Jaguars, while tying one against the Bears.
But the season opener against the Colts, where they lost 33-8, crushed all of the fans’ hopes. After the loss, McDaniel talked about the pressure that’s part of his job.
“I don’t see this job void of pressure,” McDaniel told reporters. “I don’t see entitlement in this job. I think the most important thing is that I worry about doing my job. So I think that’s what the team will get from me for sure.”
After today’s loss against the Patriots, the pressure must’ve intensified. But McDaniel is used to it. Earlier in April, he said if a coach isn’t feeling “heat on the seat,” there’s no sense of urgency in their approach. While these things sound better in theory, fans want results, and McDaniel has failed to provide that so far.
