‘Get a Life Bum’: Matt LaFleur Sparks Fan Backlash After Saying He “Doesn’t Give a Sh*t” About Halloween

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is not a fan of Halloween. Ahead of the game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, LaFleur made his thoughts on the holiday widely celebrated in America.

During a press conference, LaFleur was asked about the holiday on Friday, to which the head coach replied:

“[It’s] Halloween, huh?” LaFleur said. “We’ve got a big discussion with my assistant Darryl. I was like, ‘I don’t give a s— if it’s Halloween, all right? We’re trying to win a game. Period.’ Well done, Wahlers. It’s a Friday in the National Football League, that’s what day it is.”

Upon learning this, LaFleur catches strays from fans for his unexciting reaction.

“Borrrringggg, get a life bum,” one fan wrote.

“Confirmed Lafleur gives out apples or just turns off all his lights on Halloween 👎” another fan commented.

“Bro is too locked in,” one fan wrote.

“You can almost see it in his eyes the kind of man who counts time by quarters, not calendars. Holidays blur into game tape and sleepless nights. Somewhere between the noise of fans and the silence of film study, life outside football just fades,” one fan wrote.

“LaFleur probably celebrates one holiday only “Victory Monday,” one fan said.

However, there were some fans who didn’t find anything wrong with this reaction.

“Honestly, can’t blame him. Football people don’t take holidays they build them into wins,” one fan wrote.

“LaFleur’s focus on football over Halloween underscores his commitment to winning, a mindset that’s helped him secure 71 victories since 2019. With players like Tucker Kraft shining, the Packers are clearly prioritizing the field over festivities as they head into Week 9,” one fan added.

Matt LaFleur Not Happy With Questions About Target Sharing From Receivers

There is no primary or go-to receiver in Matt LaFleur’s Packers. Ahead of the Panthers game, the head coach expressed frustration with repetitive questions about target shares among wide receivers, specifically about rookie Matthew Golden. This comes after Golden had another quiet game on offense, catching three passes for four yards.

What would you guys like it to be?” LaFleur said. “That’s what I want to know. What would be ideal in your guys’ world to allow us to not have to answer these questions every week?”

“I think it’s important when you have a lot of guys that you have a lot of confidence in that you want all those guys to have opportunities or feel like they have some opportunities within the game plan that they get excited about,” LaFleur added. “Now, it’s impossible to get all those plays called, so that’s where you just kind of go a little bit off feel, like what are they playing versus us, and what’s the best way to go attack that?”

The Packers are 5-1-1 on the season and faces the Panthers team who are 4-4 this season.
