The ManningCast won’t be on air this Monday night, as the show will go on a short hiatus for Week 2 of the NFL. The reason behind the absence of the quarterback brothers, Eli and Peyton Manning, is that Week 2 of the NFL brings a doubleheader on Monday Night Football. The Houston Texans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are scheduled to battle out at 7 pm ET, while the LA Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders are playing at 10 pm ET.

Historically, the Manning brothers have skipped doubleheaders on their Monday Night alternative broadcast. The ManningCast will return in Week 3, but will be out for Week 4 again. A bigger hiatus will come from Week 5 until Week 8 of the season. After that, they will be on until Week 13. They will skip Week 14 and return in Week 15 and will be off again until Week 18.
The Week 3 guests haven’t been announced yet, but in Week 1, the show opened up the season with star power. Saquon Barkley and Randy Moss made appearances, with a non-football guest also appearing in the form of Bill Murray.

Peyton Manning Attended Tennessee’s SEC Opener Against Georgia Over The Weekend
Peyton Manning started making a name for himself as a quarterback with the Tennessee Volunteers in the 1990s. Back then, his decision to join the Vols, and not the Ole Miss Rebels, raised quite a few eyebrows. His father, Archie Manning, is a legend of the Rebels. His younger brother Eli Manning would eventually make a name for himself with the Rebels, too.

Peyton Manning remains incredibly close to his school. In 2023, he started teaching at the school, in the College of Communication and Information, of which he’s an alumnus.
Over the weekend, he was at Knoxville for the Volunteers’ conference opener against the Georgia Bulldogs. The school had the game within reach, but they failed a last-minute 43-yard field goal attempt. The game went into overtime and finished 44-41 in favor of Georgia.
