Malik Willis Injury Update: Will Packers QB Play Week 17 vs. Ravens?

The Green Bay Packers are still battling for a possible playoff spot, and while they are currently in, they need to hold on to their current spot after two straight losses. For Week 17, they are playing the Baltimore Ravens, but that may be without quarterback Malik Willis.

Willis is currently their backup quarterback, playing in for Jordan Love, who is currently undergoing concussion protocols, which means that if Willis is not healthy enough, the Packers might have a quarterback problem. So, will Willis be healthy enough or will Green Bay be forced to go shopping for a new QB?

    What Happened To Malik Willis?

Willis filled in for the concussed Jordan Love last Saturday against the Chicago Bears, which the Packers lost. However, the backup QB reportedly injured his shoulder, with Willis complaining that his shoulder is “pretty sore.” To make matters worse, the injury happens to be in his right shoulder, which is his throwing shoulder.

Willis was solid against the Bears, showing that he could live up to the hole Jordan Love left after he got concussed, with him throwing for 121 passing yards and a touchdown, with 11 attempts and nine completions. He also had a great rushing game, rushing 10 times for a total of 44 rushing yards.

Will Malik Willis Play On Week 17 Vs. the Baltimore Ravens?

It is safe to say that the Green Bay Packers are now in a must-win situation, but with their two top quarterbacks possibly out, it is not looking good for them, as the Ravens are also fighting for a playoff spot themselves and also must win to stay in the playoff race. So will Willis play?

Currently, the team has not provided any updates yet on their injured backup QB, so it is still quite unclear if he would be healthy enough to play this weekend.

    Malik Willis Fantasy Outlook

As for Fantasy managers who have him, it should be better to wait and see if he could be healthy enough to play or Jordan Love would be able to pass his concussion protocol. For now, Fantasy managers better wait for the results of this week’s team practices, as they could offer clues as to which quarterback might be able to play during the next game.
