Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James recently showed love to Shedeur Sanders, the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, for his career milestone. On Sunday, Nov. 23, quarterback Shedeur, the son of Colorado Buffaloes coach and two-time Super Bowl champion Deion, made his first-ever start for the Cleveland Browns in Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season.
This prompted James to support the youngster by reposting a couple of posts on his Instagram stories. The first upload saw James repost a reel by @espn that showed a highlight from Shedeur‘s first start in the professional league. James showed his support by dropping a couple of emojis as the rookie set up running back Dylan Sampson for a score for the team.

The next story by James was from the official NFL Instagram page, where Shedeur Sanders was featured in a graphic with his Browns uniform and matching iced-out watch. The next slides of that post showed a couple of clips from the 23-year-old’s first start, including the aforementioned clip and a highlight of finding wide receiver Isaiah Bond with a play that got his squad points after an intense sequence.

Perhaps James is showing support for Shedeur Sanders because of his ties with Deion Sanders. The two legendary athletes of their respective sports have been seen over the years linking up at different events and occasions. This is also deepened by the fact that LeBron James’ signature shoe line with Nike has seen several models release colorways inspired by that of Deion Sanders’ sneakers.
Along with this, James is an Ohio native and notably spent the majority of his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers before padding on his Hall of Fame resume with the Lakers. With the Cavaliers, the 40-year-old brought the city its first championship in major sports in 2016, along with multiple NBA Finals appearances, before winning it all in Los Angeles in 2020.

The Cleveland Browns Hand The Las Vegas Raiders A Loss In Shedeur Sanders’ First NFL Start
To add more delight to LeBron James and the rest of coach Kevin Stefanski’s Cleveland Browns faithful, Shedeur Sanders and the rest of the Browns defeated the Las Vegas Raiders in Sanders’ first start with a 14-point routing, 24-10, in away territory, the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The franchise was coming off a three-game losing streak, meaning that snapping the drought with Sanders starting may allow him to stay in the role for further games.
