‘LAMAR JACKSON IS SAVED’: Ravens Fan Rejoice As John Harbaugh Gets Fired As HC After 18 Years

The Baltimore Ravens like stability, especially at the head coaching position. Which is why John Harbaugh nearly had a two-decade-long stint with them. In fact, since the team started in 1996, they’ve only had three coaches.

Ted Marchibroda had the shortest, three-year stint, then Brian Billick took over for nine years, and in 2008, the franchise hired Harbaugh, who remained in his position for 18 years. The franchise fired Harbaugh on Tuesday.

Although the Ravens prefer to have stability at the most important position, what they like even more is winning championships. And Harbaugh, in his 18 years, delivered just one Super Bowl and an AFC Championship.

As he was shown the door by the Ravens, fans who had been waiting for this moment after enduring an 8-9 season run got an opportunity to let out their emotions.

“LAMAR JACKSON IS SAVED,” a fan wrote.

“The biggest mistake he made was passing on Stetson Bennett. He’d still be employed if he’d drafted him and made him the starter. Lamar Jackson is fine but simply does not have SEC experience,” a fan wrote.

“This is the equivalent to Andy Reid being fired by the Eagles. Will lead to a lot of success for both the Ravens and Harbaugh. Thank you Harbs for an amazing 18 years,” a fan wrote.

“Wow he’s out. Thanks for everything including a Super Bowl win, John. It was however your time to move on. Good luck and can’t wait to see where you go next!” a fan wrote.

“Two years too late. End of an era but much needed. Thanks for the memories Harbaugh,” a fan wrote.

“I’m actually surprised they really did it man,” a fan wrote.

Most Ravens fans didn’t see it as a moment of celebration, which is understandable considering everything Harbaugh did for the franchise. They did, however, outline that a change in regime was much needed.

John Harbaugh is the Most Successful Ravens Coach

In his 18 years, Harbaugh won the Ravens’ second Super Bowl in 2012 after a 12-year wait. In addition to the 2012 AFC Championship, the Ravens won six AFC North titles under Harbaugh.

He took the Ravens to 12 playoff appearances, the last one was in 2024. The 2019 AP NFL Coach of the Year coached the Ravens in 293 regular-season games and won 180 of them at an average of 61.4%.

He coached 24 games in the playoffs, winning 13 games. Now, with the intention of guiding the team into a new direction, the Ravens will look for their next head coach, and their next candidate will have some big shoes to fill.
