Should I Start Jayden Daniels or Lamar Jackson in Week 14? Fantasy Matchups And QB Outlooks Explored

Two quarterbacks that have been dealt injuries and haven’t had the best seasons that they’d been hoping for are Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Both Daniels and Jackson led their teams to the playoffs last year and are two of the biggest dual-threat quarterbacks in the league. But with there being just five more weeks left in the regular season, neither team is set up for the most ideal situation to make the playoffs.

Jackson missed some time early in the season with a hamstring injury and has been battling a recent knee injury. Daniels has had three separate injuries this season, dislocating his elbow most recently.

As both the Ravens and Commanders look to keep their seasons alive, let’s take a look at each of Daniels and Jackson’s fantasy projections for their Week 14 matchups.

    Jayden Daniels Fantasy Projection

In six games played this season, Jayden Daniels has thrown for 1,184 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions. Additionally, he’s rushed for 262 yards and two touchdowns. Daniels has thrown for 200+ yards in four of the six games he’s played in and has scored or thrown at least one touchdown in each game.

Daniels faces a Vikings defense that allows the 10th most scrimmage yards per game (306.8.)

    Lamar Jackson Fantasy Projection

In nine games played this season, Lamar Jackson has thrown for 1,841 yards, 15 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He’s added 264 yards and one touchdown as a rusher. Jackson has had three games this season where he’s thrown for three or more touchdowns.

This Sunday, Jackson has s a favorable matchup against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that has allowed quarterbacks to score twice or more in five of the last seven games.

Jayden Daniels or Lamar Jackson: Who Should You Start in Week 14?

If you have to choose between Jayden Daniels or Lamar Jackson this week in fantasy football, choose Jackson.

Jackson has a more favorable matchup (Pitt’s defense allows 24.1 points per game and 365.1 yards per game compared to Minnesota’s 323.4 points per game and 306.8 yards per game) than Daniels. Daniels is also making his return back from an over month-long hiatus.

Jackson hasn’t accounted for a touchdown in the last three games and that streak has to end at some point.
