Lamar Jackson Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Ravens’ QB Ahead of Week 8

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is one of most electrifying athletes in all of sports. He is arguably the best dual-threat quarterback to ever play the game of football and is always a threat when he is on the field.

While Jackson has played lights out early on in the season, the Ravens stand at 1-5 and he’s gone 1-3 as the team’s starting quarterback. In the two games without Jackson, the Ravens have gone 0-2, being outscored in back to back 61-13.

    What Happened to Lamar Jackson?

Lamar Jackson suffered a hamstring injury against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. He suffered the injury in the middle of the game and made an exit in the third quarter. He did not return back to the game and missed the Ravens’ following two games.

Will Lamar Jackson Play This Week?

There is no word on whether or not Lamar Jackson will play in the Ravens’ Week 8 game against the Chicago Bears this Sunday. However, they had some optimism about a potential Jackson return, as he practiced today for the first time since suffering the injury.

Head coach John Harbaugh was asked on Wednesday what the chances are that Jackson plays this Sunday, and didn’t have a direct answer.

    Harbaugh said via NFL.com:

“It’s hard to put a number on it. I think it’s just part of the process right now. I don’t have any shareable injury intelligence for you guys at this point.”

    Lamar Jackson Fantasy Outlook

Prior to his injury, Lamar Jackson was having a good individual year for the Baltimore Ravens. In the four games he played in, Jackson threw for 869 yards, 10 touchdowns, and one interception. He also rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown.

While Jackson suffered a non-serious hamstring injury, fantasy owners likely just benched him for the past few weeks. Some may have gotten rid of him out of desperation once the injury happened for lesser value.

Even if Jackson returns this week and say he isn’t 100% healthy, he’s still worth starting this week in fantasy and for the rest of the season with how much of a threat he is as a dual quarterback.
