Since he returned from a serious hamstring injury a few weeks ago, Lamar Jackson has led the Baltimore Ravens from one of the worst teams to a playoff contender. However, the former NFL MVP raised a lot of concerns as he appeared on the team’s injury report on Wednesday and did not practice.
The Ravens are hosting the struggling New York Jets at home. The big question now is, will the two-time NFL MVP be suiting up against them on Sunday?
What Happened to Lamar Jackson?
According to several reports, Lamar Jackson was experiencing some knee soreness, which led to him not practicing on Wednesday. However, he would return to practice on Thursday and Friday as the team prepares for its Week 12 showdown against the Jets.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh explained why Jackson missed Wednesday’s practice, saying that it was important that they rested him up that day.
“I know it’s Lamar, it’s our quarterback,” Harbaugh said. “I understand how important it is, and it wasn’t (in) his best interest to practice today.”
His injury came after that 23-16 win over the Cleveland Browns, which saw him getting sacked five times as he was hit hard on several plays. Still, the Ravens have gotten their fourth win in a row and are now aiming to make it to the playoffs.
Is Lamar Jackson Playing This Week?
With Jackson practicing on Thursday and Friday, many are expecting the two-time NFL MVP to be in action against the New York Jets on Sunday. After he returned for practice on Thursday, Jackson reportedly did not talk about his injuries but assured everyone that he is fine.
He had full practices on Thursday and Friday, which is good news for Ravens fans and Fantasy managers alike. The Ravens have struggled without him, and he is looking to make an impact at home against the Jets.
Lamar Jackson Fantasy Outlook
For now, Fantasy managers who have him should start him, as he was not dealing with a serious injury and is expected to play against the Jets on Sunday.
Despite getting sacked five times, Jackson threw for 193 yards and was 14-for-25 in the night, though he did have to interceptions. Expect him to have another solid night against the struggling New York Jets.
