Lamar Jackson has been out with a hamstring injury since the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Ravens have since added two more losses against the Texans and Rams before their Week 7 Bye.
Although there was hope for his return in Week 8, Jamison Hensley of ESPN has reported that the two-time MVP did not participate in Monday’s practice.
QB Lamar Jackson remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Coach John Harbaugh said he was hopeful that Jackson would be able to play against the Bears, but missing Monday’s practice indicates that Jackson would miss another week. The bye week certainly helped his recovery, but there is no guarantee that he will be able to play on Sunday.
The Ravens have gone with Cooper Rush as the starter over Tyler Huntley in the past two games. In his two starts, Rush has thrown four interceptions, a stat that the Ravens will be looking to improve.
Another important thing to note is that the Ravens have only been able to muster 13 points on offense since Jackson’s injury. This doesn’t seem to bode well, considering the Bears are one of the hottest teams in football and are coming off four straight wins with an offense that looks dangerous under Ben Johnson.
Lamar Jackson: Fantasy Impact and Outlook
Jackson’s uncertain status also affects the Ravens’ skill position players from a nasty perspective. As mentioned before, the Ravens’ offensive output drops dramatically when Jackson isn’t able to take the snap under center. If Jackson is unable to play, players like Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews’ shoulder be downgraded, and Derrick Henry should get an upgrade. The Ravens should lean on the run without Lamar and feed Henry just like they did in the loss to the Rams last week.
If Lamar is somehow able to play, all the skill players for the Ravens should be start-worthy. The Bears have shown flaws on the defensive side of things from a matchup perspective. From the Ravens’ side of things, it would be surprising if they weren’t keen on improving the offensive numbers.
Bottom Line
If Lamar Jackson can play after a three-week injury, the Ravens and Bears should be an entertaining affair in Week 8. If Jackson is out, the Bears should take care of business and pounce on Cooper Rush and an ineffective passing game. With his lack of participation in Monday’s practice, it is only safe to grab a streaming option for fantasy managers wondering if they should start their Baltimore skill players.
