Los Angeles Chargers star wide receiver Ladd McConkey has a lot going for him in his life. Not only has he emerged as a star for the Chargers less than two seasons into his NFL career, but he also has an enviable personal life. McConkey got married to his high school sweetheart, Sydney, in April. He seems to have a perfect life alongside his wife.
However, his wife sometimes needs to deal with getting hate online. On Thursday, she posted on her Instagram story, acknowledging a hateful comment she received on her wedding Instagram post.
“I thought he was getting married to a 40 year old women,” the critic wrote.
Sydney McConkey responded, clapping back at the commenter for shaming her looks.
“You can come at me for my looks, which I can’t change, but I’ll come at you for something you CAN change hehe. Grammar lesson: Woman is one. Women is two or more. In this case you should use woman,” McConkey wrote.
She then left another comment, emphasizing that she is not bothered by this comment or others similar to it.
“No this doesn’t actually bother me… it’s comedy, light hearted fun ;).”
While the commenter claimed that Sydney McConkey looks nearly 40, that could not be further from the case. She is only 24 years old, having celebrated her last birthday in February.

Ladd McConkey is only a few days removed from his 24th birthday, having celebrated on Nov. 11. His wife, Sydney, made a big happy birthday post on Instagram for him.

Two days before his birthday, Ladd McConkey had his best performance of the season. He made four catches for 107 yards and one TD. It was only the second time this year he has reached 100 yards in a game.
