Kyler Murray Injury Update: What Fantasy Owners Need to Know About Cardinals QB Ahead of Week 6

Last week, the Arizona Cardinals and their quarterback Kyler Murray dropped to a 2-3 record on the season following a meltdown against the Tennessee Titans. The Cardinals held a 21-3 lead in the second quarter and squandered their 18-point lead, as the Titans rallied for their first win (22-21) of the season.

Towards the end of the game, Murray suffered an injury, but it wasn’t anything serious, as he was inserted back into the game.

    What Happened to Kyler Murray?

Kyler Murray injured his foot late in the third quarter of last Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. Murray went for a dive on the football during a fumble and hurt his foot on the play.

He missed a few snaps before going back and finishing the game. His backup, Jacoby Brissett, threw a pass while he was sidelined.

Will Kyler Murray Play This Week?

Kyler Murray’s status for Sunday’s (Oct. 12) game against the Indianapolis Colts remains uncertain, but there’s finally some positive movement. After sitting out practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon confirmed that Murray (foot) will practice on Friday, with his availability for Week 6 to be determined over the next few days.

Gannon emphasized that the team will continue to evaluate Murray’s progress “day by day” before making a final decision. His participation level in Friday’s session and how he responds afterward should provide the clearest indication of whether he’ll suit up against the 4-1 Colts.

    Kyler Murray Fantasy Outlook

Kyler Murray has not had a hot start this season. In the five games, he has just 962 passing yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. He does have 173 rushing yards and a touchdown.

In his career, he’s never thrown for 4,000 yards or more than 26 touchdowns in a single season. He has been a dual-threat quarterback and has rushed for over 3,000 yards and 32 touchdowns in his career.

The Cardinals’ offense currently ranks 26th in total yardage and 23rd in points per game. His trajectory in fantasy seems to be continuing to trend downwards.
