After a one-week bye, the Arizona Cardinals will be back in action, and it will be against the struggling Dallas Cowboys, with the team possibly getting their quarterback back. Kyler Murray had been out for a few weeks with an injury, and their Week 8 bye may have done wonders as it gave him more time to heal up. So, will he be able to play on Week 9 against the Cowboys?
What Happened to Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray missed the showdowns against the Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay packers because of a mid-foot sprain. With the Cardinals getting a much-needed bye week for Week 8, the quarterback had a bigger window to heal himself up and possibly return by the time they take on the Cowboys, which have not been doing too good as of late.
The injury itself was considered not very serious, though the team just played it safe and chose to sit him out for two games, with the bye coming just in time to get him all healed up.
Is Kyler Murray Playing Week 9?
It was NFL insider Adam Schefter who revealed that yes, Kyler Murray is expected to finally make his return this week for Arizona. He, along with the Ravens’ Lamar Jackson and the Vikings’ JJ McCarthy are all expected to suit up for their respective teams for Week 9, with all three of them having missed several weeks of action due to injuries.

However, it should still be noted that the team itself has not yet released their official decision that they would let Marray play, but the consensus is that the team is very optimistic that he would be back for Week 9 against the Cowboys.
Kyler Murray Fantasy Outlook
With no official word yet on whether he would return, Fantasy managers should more or less wait and see if he could be healthy enough to return. That being said, if he does play, he will be up against one of the worst defenses in the league, and he is expected to explode, especially as the Cardinals have been very good offensively without him.
Kyler Murray Replacement
Should he not play, fans should consider picking up his backup quarterback, Jacoby Brissett, who has improved the Cardinals’ offensive output when Murray got injured. With him as the starter, the Cards 27 and 23 points in their last two games, and this was against two of the best teams in the league right now, the Colts and the Packers.
