While it is still early in the 2025 NFL season, the league is already preparing for the Super Bowl. Part of organizing the Super Bowl means finding a performer for the halftime show. Last year, Kendrick Lamar performed as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs. It is still several months from the next Super Bowl, but the NFL needs to find a halftime show performer.
Pop superstar Taylor Swift has become a part of the NFL over the past few years because of her relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The couple got engaged during the offseason. According to a report from “Sports Business Journal,” Swift was asked to perform at the next Super Bowl, but she declined the offer.

It should not be a surprise that Swift declined to perform. There has been speculation that she would not even consider it until Kelce retires. Fans reacted to the news in the comments on Instagram.
“Nobody wants her at the Super Bowl anyway,” one fan wrote.
“Her demands were her husband has to play,” another commented.
“Her demands were the chiefs to be there. NFL told her they’d do it but her fiancé cant catch the ball,” one fan added.
Fans continued to react in the comments.
“She knew the Chiefs aint make it this year,” one fan wrote.
“It’s cause she wants to take up half the field with a stage,” another commented.
“Can’t blame her. Any artist each year DOES NOT get paid to perform at the Super Bowl regardless of fame,” one fan added.

If Taylor Swift Declined, Who Will Perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show?
If it is true that Taylor Swift declined the offer to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, the NFL will need to find another artist. Earlier in September, it was reported that Adele was approached about the job. Reports indicate that she could perform, but it is not a guarantee. Miley Cyrus has also been linked as a potential option.
Regardless, the NFL will need to make an announcement relatively soon. Last year, Kendrick Lamar was announced as the Super Bowl performer on Sept. 8. It is already three weeks past that date, so fans should look for an announcement soon.
