Justin Fields Shares Real Reason Behind His Emotional Breakdown Before Jets’ First Season Win in Week 8

The weight of seven consecutive losses had finally broken through New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields as he revealed his feelings around his emotional breakdown following the Jets’ thrilling 39-38 comeback victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

“I found myself in my closet crying on the ground, laying down, not because of, not because of the hardships, not because of the troubles. I felt like, you know, I was built to handle that and I was put in place to handle this situation. But in that moment when I was talking to my best friend, you know, how hard it was and just, you know, not wavering faith wise”, Fields stated.

While Fields was pouring his heart out about the difficulties he faced, he also revealed his phone lit up with messages from his sister and stepmom with words of encouragement urging him to keep going and to continue spreading his faith.

“Yesterday, I was just, I was just praying over and over and over again. Like, you know, like this is just one, one win. You know, God is real. God is good. And everything that we go through in this life is for a purpose”, he further elaborated.
