Top 10 Justin Fields Jokes As New York Jets Struggle Against Denver Broncos in Week 6

The New York Jets’ first half against the Denver Broncos was another reminder of how lost their offense looks with Justin Fields under center. They trailed 6–10 at halftime, and while the scoreline wasn’t a blowout, the performance drew frustration and mockery online.

Most of the trolling was directed at Fields, who once again failed to find rhythm or consistency. Fields struggled to move the ball, completing few passes and missing several open reads that could’ve extended drives.

His decision-making looked hesitant, and the Jets’ offense repeatedly stalled despite the Broncos’ defense giving up short-field opportunities. Fans quickly took to social media to vent, with many calling out his accuracy issues and inability to sustain drives.

Here are the top 10 Justin Fields jokes cracking up the internet.

“’The New York Jets have signed Justin Fields to a 2 Year deal for 20 million a year, ’” a fan mocked the quarterback.

“Waking up at 9 a.m. to watch Justin Fields throw for -1 yards in the 1st quarter,” BetMGM posted.

“Jets Justin Fields when he has a wide open Garrett Wilson,” a fan wrote.

“Justin Fields getting paid $20M to be 2/3 and have 1 passing yard,” Playoff Sports posted.

“’Dad, what was it like watching prime Justin Fields?’” a fan mocked Fields’ performance.

“’Throw the ball.’ Justin Fields:” FanDuel Sportsbook posted.

“Justin Fields (trash) questionable to return,” a fan wrote.

“Justin Fields when you ask him to throw more than five yards,” a fan wrote.

“Is my app broke or does Justin Fields really have 1 passing yard and 6 rushing yards,” a fan wrote.

“Justin Fields when Garrett Wilson doesn’t have 12 yards of separation,” Underdog posted.

The Jets entered the locker room needing answers. But the internet is convinced that Fields can’t do anything right against the Broncos.

Justin Fields Clapped Back at His Critics

Justin Fields fired back at critics who pointed out his league-worst time to throw. NFL insider Connor Hughes of SNY revealed that, according to multiple analytics sites, including Next Gen Stats, TruMedia, and Pro Football Focus, Fields ranks last in how long he takes to release the ball after the snap.

Hughes explained that across every platform, Fields is holding onto the ball longer than any other quarterback in the league. When asked about the criticism ahead of the Broncos game in London, Fields dismissed the stat altogether.

He said he doesn’t think it’s a credible metric for judging quarterbacks and that he doesn’t pay attention to numbers or social media. His focus, he added, is on putting points on the board, not on how fast he throws.

“I remember one of my years in Chicago, they said I had the longest time to throw too, and at the same time I’m scrambling behind the line of scrimmage, so of course you’re going to count that,” Fields said.

He pointed out that scrambling quarterbacks naturally take longer to throw because they extend plays behind the line of scrimmage.
